Murder in the mayor’s parlour

It’s not every day you are invited to participate in murderous mayhem, so when the opportunity arose, I jumped at it! Of course, there’ll be no actual bloodshed during the Murder in the Mayor’s Parlour crime-writing contest (we hope), which launched a few weeks ago.

All participants will get expert crime-writing guidance from published authors, as well as professional editorial feedback (from yours truly, plus a Writers Workshop colleague, Hannah Boursnell) that will aid writers in submitting their best work. The winner will win publication in The Sheffield Telegraph and a small cash prize. If you’re Sheffield based, the deadline for expressions of interest is April 12, 2023.

Details of the contest can be found here, and I’ll be sharing what I learned from the submissions I reviewed in due course!
